Privacy and terms

Your chat file never leaves your device. Paid reports use a sample of it, deleted once written. Nothing is sold, and the other person is never contacted.

Who we are

VibeCheck is the service at vibecheck.wemakesense.org, and the controller of the personal data described here. Questions about your data, problems or refunds: legal@vibecheck.buzz.

Your free numbers

Your chat file is read inside your own browser. It is never uploaded and we never see it.

Paid reports

To write a report we receive the first names in the chat, the statistics worked out from it (including counts, made on your own device across the whole chat, of things like words of affection, heated moments and signs of generosity: numbers only), and a sample of messages of up to about 90,000 characters. This is stored with our host, DigitalOcean, and written into your report by DeepSeek, with Google's Gemini and Anthropic's Claude as backups. They process it under their own terms.

Optional extras. If you choose to add birthdays, they stay on your device: only the planets' positions and the fixed stars they touch are sent, never the dates. If you choose a country, we keep its two-letter code with your report, only to show the right emergency and support numbers. We never ask for your address.

The sample is deleted once your report is written, and after 7 days at the most. Your report stays at your private link until you delete it with the button at the bottom of the report. Anyone with the link can read it.

The other person in your chat

Their messages are used only to write your reading. They are never contacted and nothing is shared with them. We rely on legitimate interests: helping you understand your own relationship, while using as little of their data as possible and deleting it promptly. Chats can include sensitive details such as health or beliefs; we don't look for them or use them for anything else. If you are the other person, email legal@vibecheck.buzz.

Payments

Stripe handles payments and sends your receipt, which includes your report link. We never see your card number. We receive your email address, the amount and whether payment succeeded.

Cookies and analytics

If you tap Accept on our cookie notice, Google Analytics counts visits and the pages and buttons used, and the Meta Pixel tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) that you visited, saw your free numbers, started checkout or bought, so we can measure whether our ads work. Meta may use this to show you ads and is a separate controller of that data. Neither receives your chat, your report or your report link, and neither loads on report pages. Without your consent neither is loaded at all. If you arrive from one of our ads, the tags in the link (such as the campaign name) are kept for that visit only and are sent to Stripe with your payment, so we know which ad led to it. Your browser also stores your settings and the list of reports bought on that device.

Where your data goes

DigitalOcean, DeepSeek, Anthropic, Stripe, Google and Meta may process data outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States and China, under each provider's own terms and, where they offer them, standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, or object to how we use it. Email legal@vibecheck.buzz and we will reply within one month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

What VibeCheck is

A reading of a WhatsApp chat between two people, for reflection and entertainment. It is not therapy or medical, legal or relationship advice, and it can be wrong. If you feel unsafe in a relationship, contact emergency services or a domestic abuse helpline.

Using it

You must be 18 or over and part of the chat you upload. Don't use VibeCheck to monitor, pressure or harm the other person, or publish their messages. Reports are written by AI from a sample of your chat and can misread tone or context. The example reports include extras, such as a birth chart and card spreads, that automatic reports don't.

Buying a report

Prices are shown before you pay. Each report is a single payment with no subscription. Writing starts as soon as you pay and usually takes a few minutes; failed parts are retried automatically, and if it still cannot be finished you are refunded automatically. Lite can be upgraded to Full for the difference, by uploading the same chat again.

Refunds

By paying, you agree that your report starts straight away, so your 14-day right to cancel ends once it is delivered. If your report isn't finished within 6 hours of payment, we refund you in full automatically. You also get a full refund if it is incomplete and can't be fixed, is incomplete and can't be fixed, or is clearly about the wrong chat. Email legal@vibecheck.buzz within 30 days with your report link. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Liability and law

We take reasonable care. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't be limited by law; otherwise our liability is limited to what you paid. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If we change them, the date at the top changes too.
